When do you recruit assassins

Once inducted into the Order as full Assassins, they were given white Assassin robes, similar to those of Ezio's own. During a Den defense, recruits were equipped with several types of weaponry, such as crossbows, rifles and bombs, and also utilized stationary weapons such as Greek Fire , machine guns , and cannons that were mounted on barricades, which were used to slow the Templars' advance on the fortification.

Some also preferred to go directly into melee combat with the enemy, while others relied on air assassination. When Connor began to rebuild the Order, he recruited several locals who were had grown weary of Templar oppression. Due to the fact that the Order no longer had an organized structure, the Apprentices chose their own attire, with only one of them known to wear a hood. Their equipment was not standardized either, wielding weapons ranging from butcher knife to a Hessian Axe.

During the Third Crusade, at the rank of Servant, the Apprentice would receive their Hidden Blade and have their left ring finger amputated as a way of ensuring their commitment to the Order. It also allowed for the blade to function properly. The Hidden Blade mechanism was also modified to function properly without the need to remove the ring finger. During the 16th century in Rome, upon completion of their training, an Apprentice was formally inducted into the Assassin Order as a fully fledged Assassin.

A ceremony would be held within the Tiber Island headquarters, where, as per tradition, the Apprentice's left ring finger would be branded, and they would perform a Leap of Faith from the top of the building into the Tiber river.

In Constantinople, the recruits progressed in a similar manner, moving through several tiers of training and completing guild contracts. When a strong enough force of Assassins were sent to a city, they could free it from the Templars' control, allowing for greater support of Ezio's efforts in Constantinople.

The Constantinople guild did not hold initiation ceremonies like its Roman counterpart. Instead, once an Apprentice reached the rank of Assassin, they could be assigned as a Den Master to one of the seven Assassin Dens in Constantinople, in which they would continue their training as a Master Assassin. Usually during this training period, an Apprentice discovered information concerning a Templar agent operating in the area.

The assassination of the agent would mark the completion of their training and promotion to the rank of Master Assassin , and their training and experience allowed them to subsequently defend their Dens from any further attack attempts by the Templars.

When a recruit reaches the maximum level, visit Ezio's hideout on Tiber Island for a ceremony scene that promotes the recruit to a real assassin. Once you've got some recruits, you'll notice red bars that appear under Ezio's health bar in the upper-left corner of the screen.

You can build up to three red bars, and each bar represents an assassin recruit attack that you can call. To use an assassin recruit attack, target an enemy and pull the specified trigger. Your recruits will come out of hiding to make assassinations and even stick around to fight. After a recruit has left, the red meter will begin to slowly refill over time so that you can call out the recruit at a later time.

Once you've recruited six assassins, you'll have built up three red recruit meters. With three full meters, you can press and hold the recruit call button to summon an arrow storm. Arrow storms consume all three of your meters and they fill up one after the other, not concurrently but will kill virtually all enemies around you. Use arrow storms to wipe out massive crowds of guards in an instant.
