Can individual braids turn into dreads

Dreadlocks can be worn and styled in numerous ways as they can be held back in ponytails, curled using hair rollers, and even braided. You can style your dreadlocks in creative cornrows, French braids, and even fishtail braids. Step Choose the number of cornrows you want. Afterward, part your dreadlocks accordingly. For example, if you want 6 cornrows, part your hair into 6 sections. Step Secure one side of your dreads using a hair tie.

Part the rest of your dreads and secure that as well so that you can work with one section at a time. Step Now you can begin braiding. Take three dreadlocks from the beginning of your first section of dreads and braid it. Simply cross the dreadlock on the leftover the dreadlock in the middle. Following this, cross the dreadlock on the right over the dreadlock in the middle. Repeat this twice. Step Feed the other dreads in. Take another dreadlock from the loose section of dreads and place it close to the dreadlock in the middle.

Treat them both as one dreadlock in order to braid them. Dreadlocks are a hairstyle that dates back to ancient times. There are many ways to lock your hair. One way to do it is with braids. The best type of hair to lock is hair that is totally natural, with no chemical enhancements.

It is possible to lock hair that has been chemically enhanced, but it takes longer and eventually the hair that has chemicals in it will have to be cut off. Wash and condition your hair. Try not to over condition it and make it too soft because it will need to be able to hold the braids.

Prepare your hair station and find something to watch on television. You will be sitting in one spot for a few hours. Make sure you eat something, too. This is a great way to have your sectioning done before your dread party. Any braid shop can quickly section and braid your hair with any size square sections you want. It only needs to be long enough that you can put it in plats. Usually about 1" to 3" is ideal. The quality of the loc cream used, your activity level and how rough you are with the dreads will determine how long the twists will stay tight.

High activity level and sweating can cause twists to loosen. If these activities are part of your lifestyle cover your twists with a nylon cap that holds your twists securely.

Rinse sweaty locks though a stocking as mentioned on the dreadlocks shampoo page. If you can find a loc cream that provides a longer lasting, fresher or tighter feeling than my Knatty Dread cream I want to know about it!

For quite some time now I appear to have a leg up on the competition! Give it a try and let me know what you think.
